Our story
We built this because we needed it ourselves.
Our founder spent a decade building software supporting millions of learners. Then he built this one for his own kids.
MindyRoad's founder, Jason Gagne, is the former Chief Software Architect of ParentSquare — the school communication platform now used by more than 40% of US schools. Building at that scale teaches you how schools actually work: how standards get adopted, how progress gets reported, and how much of a teacher's week disappears into planning instead of teaching.
Then he started homeschooling his own children, and ran straight into the problems every homeschooling parent knows. Curriculum choice is paralyzing. The day takes hours to plan. And when your kid gets stuck on something at 8pm, you're the only tutor in the building — whether or not you remember how to do it.
So he built the thing he needed. A full year of standards-aligned lessons that queue themselves up each morning. A conversational tutor his kids could actually talk to, with more patience than any parent has at the end of a long day. And progress reporting that tells you what your child has really mastered, instead of leaving you to guess.
MindyRoad runs in our own home, every school day. When something doesn't work for our kids, we fix it — usually that week.
What that means for your family
We know how schools work
Standards alignment, progress reporting, and portfolio records are built in — because we spent years building exactly those systems for districts.
We use it every day
Our founder's children learn on MindyRoad. Every feature exists because a real family hit a real problem at a real kitchen table.
We're in this with you
We're not a publisher selling boxes of workbooks. We're homeschooling parents building for other homeschooling parents.
